Unit 1, Class 2 picks up where Unit 1, Class 2 ends. It charts the migration of humanity out of Africa 60,000 years ago to Western Asia and Europe, where they remained isolated for thousands of years, leading to the changes in their physical make-up that we see today. It then follows the human migration to the Western hemisphere, providing theories of how humanity came to populate our planet and morph into what we consider different "races." It also discusses the new evidence of interbreeding between Neanderthals and all non-African people and its impact of human development.
