The Standing on the Shoulders of Giants Curriculum
The 25th Dynasty pharaohs saw themselves as direct descendants of the ancient Egyptians and ruled under the same philosophy. Like practically all other pharaohs before them, the kings of the 25th Dynasty made repairs to the massive Karnak Temple Complex and and added to it as well. Unfortunately, almost all of their work was destroyed by the rival kings from the 26th Dynasty.
The Nubian Pharaohs knew the sophisticated building techniques used in ancient Egypt and infused new styles and techniques of their own. They were master jewelers and crafted beautiful items made from gold, which they were known for throughout antiquity. The Nubian Dynasty is regarded by some as the last indigenous and culturally Egyptian Dynasty. They were the last Dynasty to come from the south, where the original Egyptians - those that called their land Kemet -said they came from.
